Witches and Wizards
(Also called “spell casters” or “magic users“) The only known way for a Sim to become a witch or wizard is to be born one. Chances are significantly increased for Sims born to one or more magical parent, although it is also possible for nonmagical Sims to produce nonmagical offspring.
Signs of magical abilities first begin to show during the childhood life stage, usually by the age of seven. At this point, Sims will not yet be in full control of their powers. By the age of 10-11, young witches and wizards will begin to receive their acceptance letters to one of several magical schools. This will unlock the ability to purchase a wand from their local wand shop among other things.
Once enrolled in a Magical School, witches and wizards gain the ability to hone their powers. They can cast spells, craft potions, and even learn to fly on a broomstick. During their sixth year at Magical School, Sims have the option to learn a new teleportation skill called apparition.
Werewolves
(Also referred to as “lycanthropes“) Werewolves are Sims who have been infected with Lycanthropy. Sims usually become Werewolves by being bitten by another Werewolf, however the gene may also be passed from one or more parent on to their child. Once a Sim becomes a Werewolf, they will transform every month at full moon from sunset until sunrise.
Appearance
When a Werewolf transforms, their appearance becomes nearly indistinguishable from that of an ordinary wolf, although there are a handful of differentiating features, these differences are extremely subtle and often difficult to identify.
Transformations
In Sims 2, Werewolf transformations are timed, scored events that take place exclusively during the full moon. The initial transformation takes place at sunset, with the Sim regaining their human appearance at sunrise.
The full moon scenario is scored primarily on a Sim’s mood during the transformation, including both Mood and Aspiration Bars. The way a Sim is likely to react to the aftermath of the chaos may also affect their overall score. A positive outcome in the scenario will help minimize the sickness and low overall moodiness in the following days allowing for a quick and swift recovery.
